Using Binaural Beats Tips For Getting the Most From Your Binaural Recordings
Today many people are discovering the benefits of using binaural beats to help improve their lives in a whole variety of different ways. Binaural beats have been studied extensively, and people using them have experienced many beneficial effects, such as overcoming insomnia, reducing anxiety, meditating more deeply, and even experiencing paranormal abilities such as astral projection and lucid dreaming.
What Are Binaural Beats?
Binaural beats are a form of brainwave entrainment technology. Brainwave entrainment involves exposing the brain to repetitive stimulus such as a sound of a certain frequency. Thanks to a natural phenomenon known as the 'frequency following response', the brain will tend to match - or entrain to - this frequency. Since the production of brainwaves of specific frequencies are associated with different states of consciousness and particular abilities, brainwave entrainment offers an effective way to tap into these various states with relative ease.
Binaural beats are the most popular and well studied type of brainwave entrainment, and are widely used for a whole variety of different purposes.
However, some people who try using binaural beats don't find them as effective as they had hoped. There are many reasons for this, including the possibility that some people just don't respond to binaural beats very well, and would be better off using a different type of brainwave entrainment technology (such as isochronic tones or monaural beats), or another meditation method entirely.
But in many cases, there's a lot that people can do in order to get more out of their existing binaural beat recordings. Here are some tips for making the most of binaural beats:
Tip#1 - Listen at the same time every day
Firstly, it's very helpful to establish a consistent routine for using your binaural recordings. If possible, you should make the effort to listen at the same time every day. By doing this, your mind will come to recognise that it's time to practice, and will more readily fall into a meditative state.
Tip#2 - Listen in a quiet place
It's also vital to listen to your recordings in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. It can take time for the brain to fall into a relaxed state, even with the help of a binaural recording, and once you've achieved it you really don't want to be interrupted. So make sure anybody else in your household knows what you're doing and respects your peace and privacy during this time.
Tip#3 - Use good quality headphones
It's necessary to use headphones when listening to binaural tracks, otherwise they won't be effective. Although you don't need super-expensive headphones, it's good to buy a pair that have good quality sound, and which are comfortable to wear. You don't want your headphones to interfere with your practice sessions because they're too tight or sound horrible.
Tip#4 - Be patient
It's also important to be patient when using binaural recordings. Like other forms of meditation practice, brainwave entrainment can take time to have the desired effect, although this is usually much less time than traditional methods.
But the fact remains that some people take more readily to brainwave entrainment practice than others, so if you don't get the results you are looking for immediately, you shouldn't be discouraged and give up. Give it at least several weeks of consistent daily practice before you decide to binaural beats don't work for you.
Tip#5 - Use a high quality recording
Lastly, it's also very important to use quality binaural beats, otherwise you probably won't get very good results. The popularity of binaural beats means that there's a huge variety of recordings to choose from, both in digital download and CD formats. The downside of this variety is that anybody is free to post binaural beats online, and not all of them are very good. So make sure you get your recordings from a reputable source in order to have the best chance of success.
