Support the student occupation: letter to NYU administration

At approximately 10pm tonight (Feb. 18), students of Take Back NYU! took over the Kimmel Marketplace. They have blockaded the doors and declared an occupation! They presented their demands to the NYU administration. They read as follows:

Letter to NYU Administration

The NYU Administration REFUSES to negotiate with the Take Back NYU! Occupation (takebacknyu.com) and are threatening expulsion and arrest tonight. The students are refusing to back down and continue to press their demands for an affordable and just NYU.

Take Back NYU! needs your support! Please take a second to e-mail the NYU administration, particularly President Sexton and tell them to negotiate! Below is a sample e-mail that you can use.

Calling is also really important, please take a moment to call at least President Sexton and let him know you support the Occupation.

Providence March Against State Violence

On a cold January Friday afternoon, about 40 people gathered to march in solemn funeral procession through Providence. Folks from throughout Providence responded to the call to action from the radical queer "What Queer" collective and gathered at Burnside Park to stand against government violence and mourn the victims of the state here, all over the nation and abroad.

Rochester Marches in Solidarity with Greece

Rochester, NY Joins International Solidarity Marches in Support of Greek Uprising

Two weeks ago in Athens, Greece, a 16 year old anarchist got shot in the back of the head by a cop. Rochester SDS - Students for a Democratic Society -organized a march of approximately 20 people on December 20th, a day of international solidarity, to support the uprising that is happening in Greece and spread the word about what is going on.
