New England Sub-Regional Meeting!!!!

*Forward widely, tell your friends, bring your comrades*

Calling all anarchists and anti-authoritarians in the Northeast,Join us at the Northeast Anarchist Network New England assembly

Saturday December 13th 1000-1130: Hang out and set up time
1145-1700: NEAN meeting,
Sunday December 14th, 2008
1000-1700: Skill shares, schedule to be set before 12/10 Gather to grow at the University of Southern Maine, located in Portland
Maine. The room will be announced before this Thursday due to bureaucratic issues with the university.

Let's come together to let each other know what our groups have been doing, and how we can better work together! This is a two day event, with one day being focused on Network activities, and the second day being all skill shares (Though this can change if we feel the need to discuss more on Sunday)

I would like to have a concrete agenda set for the meeting before it starts, so I am asking for submissions for agenda items now. By this coming Monday, December 8th there will be an agenda for the meeting, so we can
best utilize our time together. I plan for this to be something set in stone, so if all those planning to attend please make your voices heard when it comes to what is going to be on the agenda. If you don't
participate at this juncture, don't complain if you don't like the agenda when the meeting occurs.
Here are ideas others and myself have for the agenda (in no particular order)

*Group report backs- Lets hear what different groups have been doing to bolster our confidence and find similarities in what different groups are
doing
*New England United- How we can help each others different projects in deeds, not words.
*STOPMAX New England- An effort set forth by the American Friends Service Committee (also known as Quakers) who's goal is to shut down ALL SuperMax prisons in the United States. More on this to come later
*NEAN outreach day- This is for Worchester as was mentioned at the general assembly and possibly we could create a model for other groups to use in their local areas to reach out to other liberal and radical groups.
J20: The Inauguration- A breakout session to talk about the inauguration for those interested in going or acting in a support role. More to come on this later.

If you are planning to come, you NEED TO EMAIL ME
(lookingforward@riseup.net) so I can make sure there is housing for you. I am the only one in Portland organizing this at the time, so I need to be e-mailed to remind me you are coming, probably will not remember you mentioning it to me in conversation.

I am also asking for help in getting food together. There are very limited resources here in Portland for feeding us all, so I would ask that people bring one item to share, or if someone would like to bottom line food
organizing to e-mail me.

So far there are many skill shares being offered! I would love to hear feedback on the ones proposed so far, so I would be able to make a schedule for them before Sunday. Also, if you would like to help with any please e-mail me and I can put you in contact with the organizer.
Here are proposed ones so far:

**DIY basic bike repair and health
**Demystifying lady bits
**Consent: what it means, and why its important
**Police weapons and tactics used at protests. Fresh reports back from
St.Paul on the latest devices and tactics of the pigs.
**Basic self-defense: Learn to defend yourself and your community through hand-to-hand combat. If time allows, there will also be a brief discussion about self-defense as a revolutionary necessity, and how self-defense is
revolutionary. This skill share is very hands on, and involves striking, stretching, and exercise, please keep this in mind.

I am also still looking for something everyone can do on the night of the 13th.
I may have to work, but will see if a friend of mine would be willing to host a get together at his place. If anyone has any ideas, or wants to bottomline something, please feel free to and contact me.

This is what I have so far. If anyone would like to offer help, it would be greatly appreciated. Its not much of a call, but this is what I have planned so far. Again, I cannot stress the importance of people e-mailing
me to RSVP, if you know of a comrade who is going, ask them if they have mailed me, and if not, remind them too.

Hope to see many of you this Friday at the RNC8/STAAC support show, and if not there at the sub-regional,
