now factor in a whopping 86 degree house.. my comfort level dropped down to.. non-existant.
Now today, the icing on the cake, my dryer took a dump. I had clothes in there.. and well.. they're wet. I couldn't get the damn thing to do anything. I'm hoping I can get my dad to look at it, but already fear bad news.. having to replace.
I have like no money except the money my dad gave me on my birthday for baby things.. and the small amount my grandparents gave me (pretty much for the same thing). That adds to about $250.. when I'm going to need closer to $400 if I need to replace the damn dryer.

Now we have a roper which is made my whirpool. It was $271 which included the tax and it works awesome! What is your experience with GE dryers? The model number of this dryer was DVL223EB4W and the serial number was DG710975W. I called the companys 800 number when it broke to see if it was ever recalled but it wasent.

If there is still crayon left after doing this, run the dryer again for 15 minutes and repeat the above cleaning process until all the wax has been removed...DO NOT run the dryer with any cleaner still inside!

I doubt you will remember just by me telling you the model number and serial number and date it was manufactured weather you had this dryer but maybe you still are using it and I wonder what you think about it.
We had this clothes dryer we bought a few years ago it was manufactured in 02/04. It was a GE and with my experience with that dryer either it was a factory defect or is just a horrible brand. It had this gap in the front part where the tub thing goes around and between the wall of it and everything would get caught there.

The one that just died on me was used to start with.. I got it at some weird guy that "fixed" broken washers/dryers... and had a ton just hanging around in his lawn/shed. After all the other frustrating things that are going on now my dryer isn't working.
It is spinning, but it is not getting any hear nor is it drying the clothes.
Of course this happens right after I did a load of whites. Most things can be hung, but socks and underwear are not as easy. I am lucky it is a nice day outside, I have all the socks and underwear spread all over the patio table to dry them. I am really glad I have a high fence so no one but my one next door neighbor can see in my yard because I am sure it looks really silly.

It was taking 2 or 3 cycles to dry a normal load of clothes. I called the landlord, and he just got done coming over to fix it.
There was a bird's nest in the piping going out of the apartment! LOL. No wonder it acted like the ductwork was plugged up. So, he got rid of the next (poor birds, but what can you do?) and put a guard over it so that can't happen again.

Then there's the trip back up stairs to wait while the clothes dry, and back down to take the clothes from the dryer and into the basket. (Again, I don't usually carry them back upstairs.) Whew. Saving a few steps made sense.

i have tons of laundry to do today, haven't even started either the washer or the dryer yet this morning. lol being lazy sitting here on the computer, but my washer and dryer are downstairs in my garage and it is sooo cold in the garage right now, and then in the summer it is sooo hot to have to go down into the garage to do laundry.

Last night I got the baby's clothes sorted, as he has gone up a size it seems, and I almost finished my toddlers drawers as well. The little ones have more winter clothes than they need it seems (at least I hope so), and I did a lot of clothes sorting. Anything that looked a bit worn were thrown in the give-away pile, and so were things the boys rarely wear.
I already have a bin full of clothes to be freecycled, so I am going to do a rough divide into sizes and get it out of the house. Hopefully it will all be gone by the weekend. I also have to get my magazines (all the free ones), and some other stuff freecycled to get rid of some clutter.

A toothbrush dipping into a comet and water paste worked well for the cracks and crevices. (It is important to clean the crevices so that crayon wax doesn't seep out when running future loads of laundry!)

The bar was easy to place, just stick it in your dryer and it's good to go for about 2 months. It was very nice not to have to worry about if I forgot the fabric softener or forgetting about putting the dryer sheets in, just place the clothes in and you are good to go.
