Reasons for Joining the Program

Environmental preservation has been an issue that is dear to me. I have engaged in different environmental-related projects since I was a child. My exposure with environmental matters began when I was very young. My parents were and are still devoted environmental activists and thus are actively involved in matter related to the environment. I became engrossed in matters of environmental conservation from a tender age. The decision to undertake a course in natural resources and environmental management is thus driven by the natural desire to continue with my environmental preservation initiatives, at a professional level. When I complete my master program, in Natural resources and environmental management at Ball state university, I will acquire professional knowledge about the management of the ecosystem. The knowledge will enable me to work hard, in relation to ascertaining that societies maintain and protect the ecosystem, for the future generations.

The continued destruction of the ecosystem, as witnessed in our societies motivates me to play an active role in environmental conversation. The global population is growing at a high rate. Similarly, societies are constructing industries that contribute to environmental degradation. When I undertake the program, I will have the professional knowledge to enhance ecosystem integrity by considering ethical, economic and scientific variables. I have the practical knowledge of the management of the ecosystem. When I undertake the course, I will acquire the professional accreditation needed to engage in ecosystem management, professionally. Currently, I am an environmental conservation advocate based on the knowledge acquired from my parents, as well as individuals I interact with. The acquisition of a degree in natural resources and environmental management will enable me to acquire additional knowledge. I will also acquire the exposure, in relation to upgrading my knowledge on environmental conservation.

Experience

The decision to undertake a course in natural resources and environmental management is because the course relates to my participation in environmental matters. I have volunteered in numerous activities related to the conservation and the management of the environment. Specifically, I have been involved in initiatives aimed at cleaning the environment and ensuring that the rates of pollution are minimized. I have also volunteered in several cleanup exercises across my city. We clean the streets, the parks and rivers flowing in upcountry. I have also participated in awareness campaigns that emphasize on environmental preservation. I joined an environmental group in my community that is involved in creating public awareness on the importance of environmental preservation. We visited schools and local communities where we educated the public on the importance of embracing recycling and minimization of pollution.

The aim of the educational initiative was to encourage the public to take individual initiative in the management of the environment. We visited more than 50 schools in the city where we emphasized on educating the public on environmental preservation.
